My name is Marius and I am an Addict and an Alcoholic.

I have been clean and sober from 25 May 2003

There were two significant events in my life I completed and would never like to do again.

The first was my 2 years military service, the second was Rehab.

Going to rehab was probably one of the most difficult things I had to do. It took courage and humility beyond what I thought I had.

Completing rehab was a major accomplishment for me because as an addict and alcoholic I battled to finish anything in my life.

What I found however was that Rehab was only a foundation to my recovery and during the weeks, months and even years after completing rehab, I was (and am) still at risk for relapse.

Having worked in the addiction industry for years now, and speaking to families and loved ones of addicts and alcoholics, I realised that there is a lack of Aftercare in the industry. People leave rehab with the question of: “What now!?”

This is why I decided to open a Halfway House.

I put a lot of emphasis on helping the families and loved ones so please contact me if you need to speak to someone.

I am very fortunate to work as an Addictions Counsellor at Akeso Clinic. I currently do Groups and Lectures on a consultancy basis at Akeso Crescent Clinic Randburg and Akeso Clinic Alberton.
